About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Reliability & Test Engineer to join our team. This individual will play a key role in the development and validation of our unmanned platforms at the system and component levels. You will partner closely with EE, ME, and Autonomy teams to translate mission needs into robust, reliable hardware. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment where reliability and test rigor determine program success. You will be hands-on in developing test methods and equipment to uncover failures before they happen in the field. Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of professional involvement in reliability validation or hardware testing for robotics, unmanned platforms, or automated vehicle systems.
  • Possession of a Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechanical, Systems, Electrical, or Robotics Engineering.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency with environmental chambers, vibration tables, and DAQ systems, alongside hands-on capability with CAD and shop tools.
  • Adept at utilizing Python scripts for automating test procedures and a deep understanding of the interplay between autonomy software and physical hardware.
  • Excellent communicative and analytical skills with a track record of implementing rigorous structure within multifaceted testing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement rigorous validation strategies, utilizing Python scripts for automation while leveraging CAD and shop tools to engineer bespoke test fixtures and hardware rigs.
  • Oversee experimental execution across internal facilities and external laboratories, maintaining technical mastery over vibration tables, environmental chambers, DAQ systems, and ingress protection testing.
  • Translate high-level vehicle reliability requirements into granular performance metrics for mechanical, electrical, and software sub-stacks while leading formal FMEA and FTA sessions.
  • Spearhead forensic investigations into hardware failures via the FRACAS framework, driving design iterations to eliminate potential field issues during the development phase.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional autonomy and engineering teams to validate sensor performance, software reliability, and HIL simulation environments.
