About The Position

The Senior Relationship Banker provides customer service duties and recommendations while reaching established goals. Utilizes the Bank’s Service Excellence Standards and product knowledge to develop, manage and grow customer relationships. Contributes to the sound operation of the branch. Mentors newer team members and collaborates with other team members. May oversee the daily running of the branch in the assistant managers absence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; minimum of three years of retail or customer service experience, preferably in a teller or banking environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Obtain Notary Public commission within the first year of employment.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude with experience handling cash and working with numbers, along with exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional customer service and supporting clients’ financial well-being through a consultative, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently and build relationships with a diverse range of clients and colleagues.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and dependable, with a strong work ethic and the ability to use sound judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to effectively address client needs while considering the Bank’s objectives.
  • Proficient in computer software and internet-based applications, with the ability and willingness to learn and develop banking industry knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, foster strong relationships, and contribute to shared goals.
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and at multiple market locations as required.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a mentor to Relationship Bankers transitioning from training until mastery of core job functions is achieved.
  • Oversees branch operations in the absence of the Assistant Branch Manager, including opening and closing the branch and vault. Performs weekly and monthly audits, reviews transaction risks and overrides, assists with ATM issues and balancing, and supports verification of incoming and outgoing cash shipments.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including BSA, and completes all required training and meetings in a timely manner.
  • Builds and deepens customer relationships through a consultative approach, identifying financial needs, recommending appropriate products and services, making referrals, conducting customer outreach, and following up on leads.
  • Opens and services consumer and business accounts, CDs, and ancillary products while ensuring accurate documentation, system entry, and compliance with Bank policies.
  • Processes a variety of customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, official checks, money orders, mailed deposits, and other account services; verifies transactions, places holds when appropriate, assesses applicable fees, and balances assigned drawers.
  • Adapts to changing branch needs and responsibilities while consistently meeting performance goals, promoting products and services, and contributing to branch initiatives, customer outreach, and new product or service rollouts.
  • Supports overall branch security and compliance by following operational procedures, verifying transactions and account balances, minimizing risk, safeguarding Bank assets, and adhering to applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
