The Senior Registered Nurse provides patient-centered nursing care on Parkland’s 56-bed Medical/Surgical unit, which serves patients with varying acuity levels in a fast-paced environment. The unit has 20 double-occupancy rooms and 16 private rooms and emphasizes teamwork, communication, accountability, and professional growth. Using Parkland’s nursing professional practice model and the nursing process, the RN assesses patients, identifies nursing diagnoses, develops and implements individualized plans of care, and evaluates patient responses. The RN coordinates care delivery with the healthcare team, helps patients move through their healthcare encounters without preventable complications or delays, and delegates interventions in accordance with the Texas Nursing Practice Act, patient condition, and staff competencies. The role also includes supporting and guiding non-nursing staff, precepting, and rotating as Charge Nurse as needed. This is a full-time night position, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Parkland offers an $8,000 hiring incentive to eligible RNs who are not current Parkland employees, have not worked at Parkland within the past 12 months, and have at least two years of RN experience.
