About The Position

Our employee-owned, multi-disciplined team of engineering and design professionals is looking for a Senior Professional Electrical Engineer with deep expertise in technical design standards for industrial facility and site electrical systems. You'll work alongside Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, and Structural professionals on a wide range of industrial projects across the country. In this role, you'll scope and lead the electrical engineering side of projects, developing site plans, power/signal/lighting plans, equipment layouts, one-lines, industrial controls, assessments, and reports. You'll also support construction administration, interpreting plans, observing construction, and confirming everything conforms to plans, specs, and schedule. With your experience, you'll also have the chance to mentor less experienced team members and help develop the next generation of engineers on our team. You'll lead engineering and design teams, owning the technical, quality, financial, and safety aspects of projects from concept through construction. With our "Seller-Doer" approach, you'll also partner with electrical group management and the VP of Facilities Engineering Services on proposal development, client relationships, opportunity tracking, and client presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
  • PE with 10+ years of progressive technical design experience in industrial facility/site power distribution, lighting, and control/signal systems
  • 2+ years managing electrical or multi-disciplined projects with service fees exceeding $300,000/year
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SKM Power Tools, and MS Office
  • Experience coordinating design standards across disciplines (Architecture, Civil, Mechanical, Structural)
  • Construction administration experience, including observation and inspection
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable writing specs, preparing reports, and leading project discussions
  • Ability to travel up to 15% for meetings, consultations, and site inspections (occasional overnight travel)
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Professional registration in multiple states
  • Experience responding to RFPs, including fee estimating
  • Business development track record, securing new projects/programs
  • Interest or experience mentoring less experienced engineers
  • Design experience with medium voltage (13.8kV) site power distribution
  • Experience with synchronous motor installation, startup, and analysis
  • Experience with P&IDs, loop sheets, and instrumentation/control panel work
  • Experience configuring or programming PLCs, VFDs, and instrumentation
  • Experience with medium voltage switchgear relay setup and configuration
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical equipment and power quality issues
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical and Revit
