About The Position

IDEAYA is a precision medicine oncology company committed to the discovery, development, and commercialization of transformative therapies for cancer. Our approach integrates expertise in small-molecule drug discovery, structural biology and bioinformatics with robust internal capabilities in identifying and validating translational biomarkers to develop tailored, potentially first-in-class targeted therapies aligned to the genetic drivers of disease. We have built a deep pipeline of product candidates focused on synthetic lethality and antibody-drug conjugates, or ADCs, for molecularly defined solid tumor indications. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years pharmaceutical sales experience
  • Minimum 5+ years oncology field leadership experience
  • Demonstrated success in oncology product launches required; rare disease experience strongly preferred
  • Track record of building high-performing, accountable teams and developing future leaders
  • Proven ability to leverage multi-source analytics and insights to craft regional strategy
  • Strong executive presence and ability to engage credibly with senior clinicians, institutional leaders, and executive stakeholders; key account management experience preferred
  • Experience operating in a small to mid-size biotech environment preferred
  • Deep understanding of reimbursement, payer, and distribution dynamics and ability to partner internally and externally to support patient access to IDEAYA’s therapies.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel approximately 80% including occasional evenings and weekends for conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing Oncology Account Management team aligned with IDEAYA's scientific and patient-focused culture.
  • Demonstrate and maintain advanced knowledge of uveal melanoma, tumor biology, emerging clinical data, the competitive environment, and darovasertib's mechanism of action.
  • Independently develop and execute sophisticated regional and ecosystem-level account strategies aligned with national brand strategy to drive appropriate product utilization.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, agility, and continuous improvement in a dynamic launch environment.
  • Possess and coach Oncology Account Managers to demonstrate advanced scientific fluency, sophisticated account planning, data-driven territory management, and ecosystem activation.
  • Lead comprehensive regional business planning, forecasting, and performance optimization.
  • Conduct regular field visits to provide real-time coaching and ensure compliant, high-quality execution while maintaining agility in response to evolving market conditions.
  • Partner strategically with Medical Affairs, Value and Access, Patient Services, Marketing, and Operations/Analytics to support our patients, customers, & colleagues in the region.
  • Establish trusted, executive-level relationships across major academic centers and influential healthcare systems with oncologists, ocular specialists and appropriate institutional leadership.
  • Lead cross-functional key account management for select high-impact regional/national networks including executive-level engagement with health system and network leadership.
  • Provide executive-level feedback to senior IDEAYA leadership on competitive dynamics, institutional trends, and emerging opportunities.
  • Own regional performance, including revenue attainment, launch milestones, key strategic objectives, and appropriate proactive adaptation of regional strategy to optimize results.
  • Ensure team and self-adherence to all administrative requirements, including budget management, expense report management, CRM call reporting and synchronization, etc., within required timelines and company guidelines.
  • Ensure all promotional and business activities adhere to regulatory, legal, and compliance standards.
