About The Position

GFT is seeking a Senior Railroad Construction Manager to join our Construction Services group in Los Angeles, CA. This role requires a high degree of travel, with candidates expected to travel 90% of the time. Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma
  • 15+ years of general construction experience
  • Ability to travel 90% of the time
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Must successfully complete background check and drug screening
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in highway and railroad construction
  • Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, HeadLight, etc.)
  • Construction Management or Civil Engineering Degree

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and oversee construction work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Perform quality control inspection and documentation on railroad projects.
  • Provide oversight for material testing.
  • Track construction costs and prepare estimates.
  • Coordinate between construction project stakeholders.
  • Research plans, specifications, material testing procedures, and local agency requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain daily and periodic documentation and records throughout the project.
  • Visit project sites to inspect and document field work performed.
  • Prepare technical reports.
  • Provide observation and inspection of construction work and contractor operations.
  • Maintain the daily log of construction and inspection activities and compare progress reports.
  • Maintain construction safety practices and work methods for compliance.
