Requirements

• Associate's degree Required
• Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required
• Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily activities in the department, working directly with the Senior Director of Oncology Services.
• Assist the Director in identifying problems, recommending solutions, and improving technical and quality assurance programs.
• Ensure a thorough understanding and proficiency in procedures performed in the Radiation Oncology departments.
• Manage the efficient operation of the treatment delivery and simulation work area, communicating and coordinating daily operations with staff.
• Provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist according to established practices and standards.
• Review prescription and diagnosis; act as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel; prepare equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices; and maintain records, reports, and files.
• May assist in dosimetry procedures and tumor localization.
