About The Position

The Advanced Airborne RF Sensors department within the Space and Airborne Systems Engineering and Test Capability (SE&TC) Center is seeking a Senior Radar Systems Engineer to support the development, analysis, and integration of complex radar systems. Your contributions will include technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and cost, risk, and supportability assessments for advanced airborne RF systems. The role requires converting product requirements into effective system solutions while balancing technical, schedule, and cost constraints, as well as supporting new system designs and existing system sustainment. This position involves regular collaboration with subject matter experts across software, systems, reliability, and test disciplines. Strong analytical, research, and communication skills are essential for understanding system operations and presenting well‑supported technical solutions. This position is an onsite role in Plano, Texas.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5-years of experience with Electrical/RF/Radar systems, signal processing, and sensor control systems, such as ISAR or SAR modes
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Experience with radar system simulation tools and real-world radar installations
  • Experience with performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications

Nice To Haves

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance within one year
  • Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Software project management experience (preferred but not required)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tool suite and MATLAB.
  • Unix/Linux and C++

  • Perform system integration, technical planning, verification and validation, and cost and risk assessments
  • Evaluate solution options using metric‑based analysis
  • Develop new system solutions and support existing configurations
  • Research system documentation to understand current system operation
  • Present technical findings clearly and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
