About The Position

The Senior RACF Engineer designs and maintains RACF profiles, groups, and resource classes to support business operations and regulatory compliance. The role leads RACF administration, including user provisioning, access reviews, and removal of obsolete IDs and datasets. It implements advanced RACF features such as password phrases, digital certificates, and program control, and monitors and audits activity using SMF records, IRRDBU00 utilities, and zSecure tools. The engineer works with application, infrastructure, compliance, IAM, cybersecurity, risk, and audit teams to enforce least-privilege access and maintain secure, compliant access across mainframes. Responsibilities include developing automation for provisioning, monitoring, and reporting; supporting security incidents, access issues, and outages; participating in RACF migrations, system upgrades, and integrations with external identity systems; documenting policies and procedures; and supporting audit and compliance reporting. The position contributes to cybersecurity technology projects throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, planning, testing, and implementation. It supports identity management, certificate administration, encryption controls, privileged access administration, role-based access control, segregation of duties, and audit mechanisms in alignment with industry practices such as NIST and CRI. The senior engineer may lead related projects, mentor junior security engineers, and serve as a technical subject matter expert.
