About The Position

Wells Fargo Bank N.A. seeks a Senior Quantitative Analytics Specialist in Minneapolis, MN. This role involves performing highly complex activities related to the creation, implementation, and documentation of quantitative models. The specialist will use complex statistical theory to quantify, analyze, and manage markets, forecast losses, and compute capital requirements, providing insights for various business initiatives. Responsibilities include utilizing structured securities, offering expertise on the theory and mathematics behind data, and managing market, credit, and operational risks. The role also entails participating in discussions on analytical strategies, modeling, and forecasting methods, identifying structures to influence global assessments from technical, audit, and market perspectives, and collaborating with regulators, auditors, and technically oriented individuals. Telecommuting is permitted up to 1 day a week, but the position requires in-person attendance at the work location.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or related quantitative discipline.
  • PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or related quantitative discipline.
  • 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a related quantitative analytics role.
  • 1 year of experience in the job offered or in a related quantitative analytics role.
  • Data analysis, modeling, and programming experience using SAS and Python or R.
  • Significant analytic experience in statistical, econometric, and machine learning approaches to data analysis and modeling.
  • Experience working with relational databases and Hadoop data file systems.
  • Theoretical and applied knowledge pertinent to build Pre-Provision Net Revenue PPNR forecasting models using advanced statistical techniques/machine learning for stress testing.
  • Experience with linear model technique including time-series, OLS, logistic regression, hazard models, and panel regression.

Responsibilities

  • Identify structure to influence global assessments, inclusive of technical, audit and market perspectives.
  • Collaborate and consult with regulators, auditors and individuals that are technically oriented and have excellent communication skills.
