About The Position

SubCom is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Quality Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in our products and processes. This role involves designing, implementing and managing the quality management systems, managing supplier quality and component engineering, conducting audits, analyzing data, providing technical solutions to complex problems and driving continual improvement initiatives using Lean tools. This is an enterprise-wide role supporting multiple business units across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in quality, management or business administration.
  • More than five years’ experience in quality engineering with at least two years in a management role.
  • Expert in the application of ISO standards, compliance and quality management systems.
  • ISO auditor certification
  • In depth management experience with auditing processes and techniques to include supplier audits
  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills (e.g., CAPA).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional groups comprising of Design, Engineering, Operations and Reliability teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior level leadership to the business units supported by the role.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO standards. Requires quarterly reporting showing adherence to standards.
  • Report to Senior Leadership; trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. Follow up on findings and implement corrective actions.
  • Manages a skilled team, including component and supplier quality engineers, using LEAN tools to implement data driven corrections and improvement initiatives – CI and CAP
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality and delivery.
  • Analyze the data and metrics to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide training and support to staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide single point of contact in a Quality Project Manager role to ensure customer requirements and expectations are met or exceeded
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quality management.
  • Domestic and international travel - ~20%
