About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineering and Program Manager to join our dynamic team in New Orleans, LA for the Space Launch System program. This position serves as a member of both the SLS program leadership team and Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems Total Quality leadership team. Responsible for all aspects of Quality on the SLS program from design through launch. Manages employees and mid-level managers performing quality engineering and quality assurance on the SLS program through all phases of the product lifecycle. Develops quality strategies and plans in support of new business acquisition and execution of SLS program/business plans. Provides education and coaching on the Quality System. Acquires and manages resources, provides quality technical management and leads performance improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, suppliers and direct reports. Oversees review of technical information to ensure quality and producibility. Manages, develops and motivates employees and mid-level managers within an inclusive and collaborative environment. Ability to understand the big picture and inter-relationships of functions. Ability to effectively communicate current state performance to plans for executive consumption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 3+ years of experience implementing and/or maintaining a quality management system
  • Experience working in a cross functional environment
  • Experience with Communication, both written and verbal, with a comfort in public speaking and frequent interactions with executive-level management.

  • Direct experience performing in quality engineering, manufacturing operations, project management, system engineering, or change management
  • Solid working knowledge of Quality Tools (APQP, Early Quality Involvement, RCCA)
