About The Position

At Medtronic, your leadership helps bring medical technologies from concept to market. As Senior Quality Engineering Manager in Danvers, MA, you will lead a team of 11 engineers supporting more than 16 active development programs across multiple Operating Units (OUs). With a strong focus on design and development, you will guide quality engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle—from early concepts and feasibility through market release. This role brings together design quality expertise, people leadership, and collaboration across teams to support product quality and reliable execution across a diverse development portfolio. This is a fully onsite role, in Danvers, MA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years of managerial experience; OR Advanced degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years of managerial experience.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design quality engineering: Plan, direct, and oversee quality engineering support for the design and development of new medical devices and associated software systems.
  • Manage a complex development portfolio: Align priorities, engineering resources, and quality objectives across more than 16 active development programs spanning multiple Operating Units.
  • Develop and support your team: Lead, coach, and evaluate 11 engineers, setting clear expectations, supporting professional growth, and creating an inclusive environment where different perspectives are valued.
  • Guide development from concept to release: Partner with development teams to integrate quality considerations into new concepts, methodologies, materials, processes, and products throughout design and development.
  • Oversee feasibility evaluations: Guide studies and technical assessments to determine whether proposed designs can function as intended and identify quality concerns early in development.
  • Strengthen quality and reliability systems: Oversee the development, evaluation, implementation, and maintenance of technical quality assurance, quality control, and reliability systems and standards relevant to materials, techniques, and products.
  • Evaluate technologies: Direct the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies to inform development decisions and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain development documentation: Oversee documentation maintenance throughout research and development to support complete, consistent records across program phases.
  • Coordinate external partnerships: Organize activities with suppliers and consultants to align technical contributions, quality expectations, and timely delivery.
  • Drive effective execution: Communicate program priorities, resource needs, and quality concerns across teams and leadership to support timely decisions and efficient operation of the function.
