About The Position

The Senior Quality Engineer (Civil) provides quality oversight and assurance for the Fairfield Energy Center, with primary emphasis on civil and structural scope. Reporting to the Project Quality Manager, the role maintains and verifies implementation of the Project Quality Management System (QMS) and the project’s quality commitments. Based at the Millersport, Ohio job site, the engineer provides day-to-day oversight and support to Field Engineering, Supply Chain, and Resident Engineering, and independently leads audits, causal analyses, and corrective-action assignments. Some travel may be required. The project is a 1.3 GW simple-cycle power generation facility adjacent to a hyperscale data center campus. Its scope includes gas turbines, reciprocating engines, battery energy storage systems, substations, and balance-of-plant infrastructure, along with civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, underground utility, control system, and commissioning work. The position requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections, including extensive walking in variable weather, climbing ladders and scaffolding, and working on elevated platforms, uneven surfaces, and in confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. The engineer must be able to enter and egress the site and use standard-issued personal protective equipment.

  • Civil/structural background and demonstrated quality experience across earthworks and site development, aggregate pier ground improvement, stormwater and erosion control, access roads, deep and shallow foundations, cast-in-place concrete and reinforcing steel, underground utilities, and structural steel on heavy industrial or power projects.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Certified Lead Auditor qualification through an IRCA-accredited training course; advanced quality assurance auditor experience and familiarity with ISO 9001 criteria.

  • Physical ability to conduct field inspections, including extensive walking in variable weather, climbing ladders and scaffolding, and working on elevated platforms, uneven surfaces, and in confined spaces; some lifting may be required.
  • Ability to enter and egress the site and use standard-issued PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Support and verify implementation of the Project Quality Plan and Project QMS across project phases; monitor and report implementation effectiveness against quality commitments and objectives.
  • Verify materials, workmanship, and specification and code requirements, particularly for civil and structural work, and review schedules for timely implementation of the Project Quality Plan.
  • Identify and document quality concerns; initiate corrective actions and manage them to closure in the Closed Loop Corrective Action (CLCA) system, DevonWay.
  • Lead root-cause and causal analyses to prevent recurrence; develop quality metrics; verify Best Practices and Lessons Learned; and lead QMS orientation and training for project personnel.
