About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our Phantom Works Quality Organization in Kent, WA! Join Boeing as a Quality Engineer and drive world-class safety and reliability across cutting-edge aerospace programs. In this position, you will support quality defect reduction, root-cause problem solving, and continuous improvement to ensure parts and processes meet the aerospace manufacturing standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 5+ years of experience working with safety and quality processes and procedures
  • 5+ years of experience reading, understanding and interpreting engineering technical information (e.g., drawings, handbooks, industry standards and specifications)
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret/SCI Clearance Post-Start is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of experience working with safety and quality processes and procedures
  • 10+ years of experience reading, understanding and interpreting engineering technical information (e.g., drawings, handbooks, industry standards and specifications)
  • Experience with Early Quality Involvement Tool (EQI)
  • Leadership experience
  • Top Secret Clearance preferred
  • Experience with new development programs
  • 5+ years of experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard

Responsibilities

  • Lead Integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation
  • Develop quality metrics, design, and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements
  • Develop quality criteria for supplier selection activities
  • Lead design and quality reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated
  • Analyze non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Develop and implement corrective actions
  • Assist in development of new standards for nonconformance repairs
  • Develop and select methods for analysis, testing and audits
  • Perform benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved
  • Provide interpretation of complex requirements
  • Work under minimal direction
