About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer (SrQE) to play a critical leadership role in strengthening plant-level quality, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring customer requirements are consistently met. This role is ideal for a seasoned quality professional who thrives in complex manufacturing environments and enjoys influencing outcomes through collaboration and expertise. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will serve as a technical and cultural leader within the plant’s Quality organization, aligning internal processes with customer expectations while driving sustainable improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of manufacturing quality experience, preferably in heavy industry or steel.
  • Deep working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (SPC, FMEA, 8D, Six Sigma).
  • Strong analytical capability, including statistical data analysis.
  • Experience driving quality improvements across cross-functional teams.
  • Hands-on knowledge of quality management systems and compliance standards.
  • Ability to clearly communicate, coach, and motivate others.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence rather than authority.
  • Self-driven, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Engineering or quality-related discipline)

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • CQE or equivalent certification preferred
  • ISO / API Q1 Auditor or Lead Auditor certification preferred
  • Willingness to learn new standards deeply if not already familiar

Responsibilities

  • Champion safety-first behaviors and embed “fail-safe” thinking into quality routines
  • Translate the Voice of the Customer into actionable improvement targets (Claims, NCRs, NQC).
  • Lead and own the 8D problem-solving process, ensuring depth, rigor, and long-term prevention.
  • Analyze quality metrics, trends, and leading indicators to drive strategic improvement roadmaps.
  • Partner with Process Engineering, Production, and OpEx teams on defect-reduction initiatives.
  • Conduct statistical analysis to identify root causes and guide data-driven countermeasures.
  • Serve as a quality systems gatekeeper, ensuring compliance with customer, industry, and regulatory standards.
  • Support and coordinate internal audits and post-corrective-action verification.
  • Lead cross-functional quality projects without direct authority, influencing outcomes through expertise.
  • Coach and mentor others in quality tools, methods, and mindset.
  • Step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Quality Manager.
  • Promote deployment and sustainability of the Drive+ Quality Technical System.
