About The Position

Kent is looking for a Senior QA Technician to be based in Beaumont, TX and support regional project site(s). The role ensures that all products, materials, and processes meet established quality standards and comply with industry regulations. This involves conducting inspections, tests, and maintaining accurate records of quality data. The technician will work closely with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve quality issues, contributing to the overall quality and safety of operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • API 510, API 570 or CWI - Certified Welding Inspector.
  • 7-10 years of experience in a quality assurance or quality control role, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry or a similar field.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and address quality issues effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate quality-related information clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic knowledge of quality management software.
  • Proficiency with Hexagon Smart Completions.
  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Effective time management, planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in multiple groups in a team-oriented environment and independently when necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to bring the project to successful completion.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and embrace charter values.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections on raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards.
  • Accurately record and document inspection results, including measurements, deviations, and non-conformance reports.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records for audit purposes.
  • Identify and report non-conforming products or processes, assist in investigating root causes and participate in the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues.
  • Ensure all inspection tools and equipment are properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Support internal and external quality audits by preparing necessary documentation, participating in audit activities, and following up on audit findings to ensure timely resolution.
  • Assist in the inspection and testing of incoming materials and components from suppliers, reporting any quality issues to the procurement and quality assurance teams, and work to resolve supplier-related quality concerns.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing quality processes, reducing defects, and increasing operational efficiency.
  • Provide input on potential process improvements based on inspection findings.
  • Ensure all quality assurance activities are conducted in compliance with HSE regulations and company policies, reporting any safety hazards or incidents immediately.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and procurement, to support quality assurance efforts and maintain consistent quality standards throughout the production process.
  • Assist in training new quality technicians and other team members on quality procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Stay informed of industry developments and quality standards.
  • Steward Smart completions and turnover documentation.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management, within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role.
