About The Position

Works with senior management to maintain Quality Assurance and safety programs, including policies, processes, procedures, and controls. Ensures contract performance conforms to established standards and Government agency guidelines, guaranteeing lasting customer satisfaction. This position requires the individual to manage/supervise Contractor Aircraft Quality Control Inspectors. The individual is responsible for the management of the quality and safety programs to ensure compliance under the Contact. This position entails conducting quality and safety inspections/audits of contract operations and subcontractors. This position requires the preparation of QA/Safety/Hazardous Waste programs, manuals, and revisions. This individual provides a response to customer concerns and findings and tracks corrective actions taken in response to internal and customer audit findings. This individual must act as a direct representative to the local Navy point of contact. This position is required to monitor the weight & balance, FOD, Calibration, nondestructive testing, corrosion prevention, tool control, and ground safety programs along with other programs assigned. The individual manages the inspection branch, including inspection requirements, trend analysis, technical order publication library, maintenance training programs, and functional check flight programs. The person must have the ability to provide guidance and direction to achieve compliance with all applicable safety and quality standards and provide leadership and knowledge to staff members and teams, as necessary. Develops staff and methodology to fulfill duties and communicates program metrics as needed. Maintains awareness of regulatory changes and disseminates safety-related bulletins, technical changes, and literature to work for site personnel. This person will be responsible for investigating mishaps and injuries and overseeing the technical library. The individual who holds this position must ensure compliance with company programs, FAA, Government directives, airworthiness directives, and aircraft configuration. Ensures Modification and Maintenance are conducted utilizing approved data. Monitors quality deficiencies and coordinates corrective actions. This individual must be qualified as a Competent Person for Fall Protection Program. This person must be excellent in oral and written communication skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
  • At least eight (8) years of experience in any combination with the following areas; Quality Assurance/Improvement, ISO-9000, and /or Safety & Environmental Compliance.
  • Knowledge of project planning.
  • Management skills.
  • Proven leadership ability.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality management, concepts, techniques, tools, and procedures.
  • Complete knowledge of aircraft logs and records.
  • Sufficient knowledge and experience to effectively assume responsibility for the overall quality of the Contractor maintenance effort in accordance with the NAVAIRINST 3710.1G.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • At least two (2) years of Management experience is preferred.
