Senior QA Test Engineer
About The Position

We are seeking a Senior QA Test Engineer who is passionate about delivering high-quality software solutions at scale. In this role, you will serve as a senior individual contributor, owning end-to-end quality engineering efforts across enterprise Java and .NET applications. You will apply advanced testing strategies, automation frameworks, AI-enabled tools, and intelligent automation solutions to improve product quality, accelerate delivery, and reduce operational risk. Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and technology leaders throughout the software development lifecycle. You will design and execute test strategies covering functional, integration, regression, API, and end-to-end testing while expanding automated test coverage using Selenium and RestAssured. You will also leverage AI tools to accelerate test case creation, defect analysis, and documentation, while building AI-driven solutions that streamline quality engineering workflows and improve testing efficiency. Your contributions will directly impact application reliability, release confidence, and the delivery of innovative technology solutions that support Schwab clients and business teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of quality assurance, software testing, or quality engineering experience supporting Java and/or .NET applications
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks using Selenium for UI testing
- Hands-on experience performing API test automation using RestAssured
- Experience designing and executing functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test strategies
- Working knowledge of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) concepts and frameworks such as Cucumber or SpecFlow
- Experience writing, reviewing, and maintaining Gherkin scenarios and BDD-based test coverage
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar technologies to improve testing efficiency and quality outcomes
- Experience building, contributing to, or supporting AI-driven agents or intelligent automation solutions for QA workflows
- Strong understanding of RESTful API testing, database validation, and multi-tier application architectures
- Experience troubleshooting complex software defects and conducting root cause analysis
- Experience working independently within Agile and Scrum delivery environments
- Strong collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.

- Experience with performance and load testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines
- ISTQB certification or equivalent quality assurance credential
- Experience working within financial services, regulated industries, or high-availability technology environments
- Agile and/or SAFe experience
- Experience supporting cloud-based applications and modern software delivery practices
