Requirements

  • BS in Engineering or equivalent, with 10+ years of experience in Quality Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ of relevant experience in Aerospace industry
  • In depth knowledge of Quality Engineering processes and tools including PPAP (Process flow, PFMEA, Control Plans, Process capability studies, GR&R), RCCA, APQP. SPC and AS9102 FAIR
  • Experience in recognized quality (AS9100/AS9110) and process (NADCAP) systems in an aerospace and highly familiarity with customer-regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA, JCAB).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
  • Organization skills that will enable oversight of multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Capable of developing and monitoring program budgets and timelines
  • Proficiency on Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English
  • Due to government regulation only US persons (U.S. citizen, U.S. naturalized citizen, U.S. permanent resident, holder of U.S. approved political asylee or refugee status) may be considered for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead/co-lead/participates in Community of Practice(s)
  • Provide support and leadership to Quality Engineering in new product development
  • Provide leadership in preparation for internal, customer, and third-party regulatory audits.
  • Provide strategic planning leadership by setting project priorities based upon company goals, anticipated industry trends, and emerging technology.
  • Participates in technical discussions with key customers and regulatory agencies as needed
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations across the organization to establish key business processes, document them effectively, and ensure that inputs and outputs are measured appropriately
  • Lead implementation of new inspection technologies into the operational environment to assure product conformance and effectively drive improvements in business metrics.
  • Lead implementation of new strategies to increase the effectiveness of Quality Systems including: • Corrective Action System/Corrective Action Board • Internal & External Audit • Calibration • Document requirements
  • Provide accurate reports/presentations to management pertaining to impact of quality projects.
  • Continually review QMS throughout the organization to ensure compliance with all applicable customer requirements and government regulations involving product quality
  • Promote Operational Excellence through utilization of Lean Manufacturing techniques as well as Process Validation, robust problem-solving methodology, Six Sigma Problem Solving skills and technical expertise.
  • Performs escape management procedures and leads teams to investigate the root cause customer escapes and non-conformances as well as implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Continually Review and make recommendations for managing risk in product development.
  • Drive process standardization to incorporates quality improvement plans methodologies as part of a continuous improvement process
  • Adhere to and promote Corporate Code of Ethical Standards.
  • Lead Built in Quality Process (Real-time problem resolution, advanced quality processes including statistically based variation reduction, control planning, mistake proofing, and Manufacturing Process Control)
  • Establish and maintain applicable measurements / metrics for monitoring product quality effectiveness. (FPY, COPQ, Defects, Escapes)
  • Provide a leadership role, coaching and mentoring within the site, region, and corporation to effect knowledge transfer.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on quality control procedures, including customer-specific requirements, regulatory agencies, and industry standards
  • Be a trainer, mentor and coach to multiple functions and levels across the corporation.
  • Traveling outside the facility, as required.
  • Communicate with all levels within the Quality Organization ensuring consistent knowledge transfer.
  • Performing other tasks in the facility, the region, and the corporation, as needed.
