About The Position

Healthie is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to join their collaborative QA team. This role is for someone who will not just maintain the status quo but will actively contribute to shaping how software is built and shipped as the company's products evolve. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional testing skills, a deep understanding of complex products, a curious nature to uncover hidden issues, and empathy for end-users. Proficiency in AI tools for testing is expected, alongside the judgment to ensure quality. The Senior QA Engineer will collaborate with a team of QA engineers, contribute to testing strategies, and work closely with engineers, product managers, and designers on a large, complex EHR platform. The role also involves applying rigorous testing to AI-powered products. Healthie emphasizes AI-enabled and AI-accelerated development, seeking team members who leverage AI tools, embrace automation, and promote modern, AI-assisted engineering practices to enhance velocity and quality.

Requirements

8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
Track record of finding bugs others miss and building test coverage that holds up over time.
Deep customer empathy; think about real users as you test, act as their proxy, and advocate for their experience.
Exceptional testing instincts, with a natural ability to identify edge cases, think adversarially, and dig until you understand a failure completely.
Fast product learner; get up to speed on new features and domains quickly and approach them with a critical, questioning eye.
Strong sense of when enough is enough; use experience and context to make confident calls about coverage, balancing thoroughness with the pace of a fast-moving team.
Technically fluent across the stack: solid API testing skills, strong working knowledge of GraphQL, comfortable reading logs and digging into a codebase when a bug needs it.
Comfortable with Playwright and test automation.
Fluent with AI tools for generating tests, surfacing edge cases, and moving faster without sacrificing judgment.
U.S. work authorization is required.

Nice To Haves

Ruby and TypeScript familiarity is a plus.
Experience configuring testing and deployment practices, including CI/CD pipelines and release process tooling.
Experience testing AI/ML systems, NLP outputs, transcription accuracy, or other probabilistic models.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements and how they apply to PHI handling in software.
Familiarity with Claude Code or other agentic coding tools.
