About The Position

NDTC is building a custody platform that can securely store and provision access to large quantities of digital assets for our financial services clients. We’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer-Lead SDET / Architect to join our team and bring significant software development expertise to our greenfield financial services platform. In addition, help shape the engineering team, culture, processes, and standards to enable a successful and rewarding environment for everyone. Work closely with peers, architects, IT staff, product managers, security staff, and QA to bring the company’s product vision to life while ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of: Data consistency, Testing microservices in containerized environments, Distributed data systems, Extensible application frameworks, Metadata driven platforms, Systems supporting millions of users
  • Fluent in at least one programming language (Python, Java, JUnit, Scala, etc.) for automated tests
  • Hands-on DevOps and/or CI/CD experience
  • Familiar with white box and integration testing
  • Comfortable with Postgres and Oracle
  • Experience writing and executing automation scripts
  • Experience testing client/server systems
  • Strong experience with automated API testing
  • Detailed knowledge of development, test, and release processes, including iterative TDD
  • Proficient in data analysis and database entity relationship modeling
  • Solid understanding of software architectures (SaaS, WCF, Web, database)
  • 8+ years in software testing/QA within tech or software
  • 5+ years in Senior QA Automation or SDET roles
  • 2+ years in QA Lead Automation and/or SDET roles
  • Capable of operating in a QA Architect role
  • Completed at least one full product lifecycle as a key contributor
  • Strong experience in test planning and test case development
  • Ability to develop product/project metrics and analyze bug statistics
  • Ability to understand technical aspects of complex products
  • Strong analytical and risk-assessment skills
  • Ability to create clear acceptance criteria
  • Strong documentation skills (test plans, test cases, release notes)
  • Professionalism, accuracy, reliability, and integrity (due to regulatory environment)
  • Experience working under regulatory oversight
  • Ability to meet strict internal SLAs
  • Fingerprinting and background checks required

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with highly regulated environments
  • Proficiency with source control systems (Git preferred)
  • Expertise writing test tools and test harnesses
  • Familiarity with blockchain and cryptocurrency testing
  • Experience with core banking systems and transactional banking testing

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering, IT, and Security to ensure secure, scalable, highly available, modular infrastructure
  • Collaborates across the full product lifecycle, including designing and implementing tools for secure review, build, and deployment
  • Recommends new technologies and improvements to product, sprints, teamwork, and efficiency
  • Reviews and manipulates code to inject error conditions and simulate real-world behaviors
  • Prepares detailed software analysis and design artifacts to establish acceptance criteria
  • Analyzes software products/systems to determine test requirements, strategies, and risk
  • Tracks defects, including defect project management (bug scrubs, etc.)
  • Actively participates in project milestone meetings
  • Breaks down projects into testable units with clear acceptance criteria
  • Prepares detailed test plans, reports, and release notes
  • Prepares detailed test cases and related documentation
  • Assists with implementing test strategies (architecture, frameworks, tools, etc.)
