About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer for a 12+ month contract opportunity with a Global Financial Institution. This role is located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX, and Pennington, NJ. The position focuses on software quality assurance for commercial card teams, with a strong emphasis on automation testing. The ideal candidate will utilize expert-level Java and Selenium skills to design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks within an Agile/Scrum environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 7+ years of overall software quality assurance experience, with 5+ years focused on automation testing
  • Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
  • Expert-level proficiency in Java for test automation development
  • Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver
  • Experience designing and maintaining robust automation frameworks (e.g., Page Object Model, data-driven frameworks)
  • Experience with test execution and reporting tools (e.g., TestNG, JUnit)
  • Strong skills in API testing automation (e.g., REST Assured, Postman with automation)
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
  • Proficiency with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket)
  • Ability to write and execute SQL queries for backend data validation
  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with mobile automation testing (Appium) is a plus
  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Exposure to containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling)
  • Strong knowledge of the Payment domain in Banking
  • Previous experience mentoring or leading QA automation engineers

Responsibilities

  • Create comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases
  • Perform regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end testing
  • Manage defect lifecycle and collaborate with development teams
  • Identify edge cases, risks, and automation gaps using strong analytical skills
  • Work independently and take ownership of automation initiatives
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
