About The Position
Peregrine Advisors is a data and technology innovation hub and a Benefit Corporation working at the center of the federal government's mission. Your first assignment will likely put you in charge of defining and delivering solutions for modern applications, leading feature work on an AWS cloud-native stack, with ownership of user stories from refinement all the way to production. You will direct the build of serverless, event-driven application workflows on Lambda and Step Functions, own how commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products integrate into the larger system frameworks built in-house, design and ship the API interconnections modern system architectures rest on, or lead the data and document pipelines that make automatic what used to be manual and paper-heavy. Adaptability and a demonstrated capacity to learn new concepts, systems, and tools are what keep you ahead of program needs as projects complete and priorities shift. Requirements
- Sole United States citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust determination
- 7+ years of software development experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Expert-level command of Python
- Strong hands-on experience with cloud-native development on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Proficiency with modern languages and frameworks
- Proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
- Experience with automated testing
- Experience with secure coding
- Ability to construct and own the design of a component, and to carry it through to production
- Basic proficiency in writing, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Clear communication
- Adaptability across roles and clients
- Care about creating public value

- Ownership of outcomes over tasks

- Amazon Web Services certification
- Serverless and event-driven development experience

Responsibilities
- Leading feature work on an AWS cloud-native stack, with ownership of user stories from refinement all the way to production
- Directing the build of serverless, event-driven application workflows on Lambda and Step Functions
- Owning how commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products integrate into the larger system frameworks built in-house
- Designing and shipping the API interconnections modern system architectures rest on
- Leading the data and document pipelines that make automatic what used to be manual and paper-heavy
- Building and maintaining pipelines and automated tests
- Using AI-assisted development as the default way of working, setting the pattern for tools like Amazon Q Developer
- Improving developers who work alongside you
- Launching new capabilities, tools, and lines of business over time
