This posting will be used to create an eligibility list that may be used to fill other vacancies within the Department. Current vacancy is for a Wednesday - Saturday, 4/10 work schedule. Under general supervision, leads and performs the more difficult and complex duties involving a variety of street, sewer, asphalt, parks, trees or facilities maintenance, repair and reconstruction work. Exercises functional and technical supervision over lower level maintenance staff. This is the advanced journey level class in the Maintenance Worker series. Positions at this level are distinguished from other classes within the series by the level of responsibility assumed and the complexity of duties assigned. Employees perform the more difficult and responsible types of duties assigned to classes within this series including specialized skills and providing functional and technical supervision over other journey level maintenance personnel. Employees at this level are required to be fully trained in all procedures related to assigned area of responsibility. The Senior Maintenance Service Worker will take a leadership role in the City Graffiti Crew within the Parks & Landscape Division. This position is critical in maintaining the city's cleanliness and aesthetics by swiftly removing graffiti from public spaces. The focus will be on promptly addressing graffiti in the public right-of-way, ensuring the preservation of the city's image, and preventing vandalism from escalating. Furthermore, the Senior Maintenance Service Worker will oversee and manage all weekend graffiti removal operations, ensuring efficient and effective results.
