About The Position

LastPass is looking for a Senior Public Relations Manager to lead how the company shows up in the press and across the security conversation. This role will manage media relations, launch communications, and issues preparedness, helping LastPass deliver on its mission to give everyone seamless access to everything they need to work, move fast, and stay protected. The Communications team, within the Marketing organization, owns how LastPass is perceived in the press, by industry audiences, and in the broader security conversation. The team manages an external PR agency, drives launch and event moments, and builds earned media and executive visibility to support company growth and reputation. This role is ideal for someone passionate about complex problem-solving and motivated by scale.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading communications or public relations programs in B2B software, ideally in cybersecurity or adjacent technical categories
  • Proven track record earning media coverage on the strength of the story, with established press relationships
  • Proven experience managing an external PR agency to measurable outcomes
  • Background in crisis and issues communications within a security-sensitive or regulated environment
  • Strong writing and editing ability, able to produce the first draft when it matters
  • Recognized internally as a trusted communications counselor who stays calm and clear when stakes are high
  • Recognized internally as a rigorous operator who defends the function's impact with data rather than adjectives

Nice To Haves

  • Experience communicating through a company repositioning or category creation effort
  • Familiarity with identity, access management, or AI governance markets
  • Experience supporting creator, influencer, or community programs with technical audiences

Responsibilities

  • Lead proactive media relations across security trade, business, and technology press, turning company milestones into earned coverage
  • Manage an external PR agency as an extension of the team, setting scope, priorities, and a high bar for output
  • Build and run the communications engine around product launches, industry events, and original research
  • Maintain the corporate messaging framework and keep public communications aligned across channels
  • Develop executive visibility through speaking opportunities, bylines, and select media engagements
  • Partner with security and legal to keep issues and crisis communications preparedness current, including protocols and holding statements
  • Establish communications measurement, including share of voice, message pull-through, and sentiment
  • Collaborate with brand, product marketing, and demand generation so earned, owned, and paid channels tell one story
