About The Position

Relativity Space is developing the Terran R launch vehicle to deliver customer payloads to orbit. The Propulsion team develops and delivers high-performance, manufacturable engines, with engineers responsible for their parts throughout the lifecycle—from initial design through production, qualification, and flight. The Propulsion Integrated Design team owns the overall layout and packaging of Relativity’s engines, as well as the design and analysis of critical structural and fluid components. As a Responsible Engineer, this role may involve engine configuration trade studies, controlling and releasing CAD and eBOM for top-level engine assemblies, and designing and analyzing structural and fluid hardware. The engineer will also lead development of manufacturing or test methods for critical flight hardware and collaborate with Manufacturing, Test, and Vehicle Design teams.

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated project or technical leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals in structures, fluids, thermal, and mechanisms.
  • Experience designing, analyzing, assembling, and/or testing hardware.
  • CAD skills using any platform.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
  • Experience designing liquid propulsion components and systems.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and commercial tools such as Ansys, Abaqus, or Nastran.
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards such as AS, NAS, and SAE.

Responsibilities
