Senior Proposal Manager, Public Sector, US Strategic Pursuits
About The Position
This role is for a Senior Proposal Manager on the Worldwide Public Sector team at AWS, focusing on U.S. National Security customers. The position involves creating strategies to increase the adoption of Amazon's cloud services by developing winning proposals, including written responses for RFIs/RFQs/RFPs, oral presentations, demonstrations, unsolicited documents, and white papers. The ideal candidate will have public sector proposal management and technical writing experience, a strong understanding of the Business & Proposal (B&P) process, and the ability to interact effectively with legal, technical, and sales teams. Familiarity with US Government acquisition guidelines and federal RFx compliance is essential. The role requires a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
Requirements
- 5+ years of in program management, workforce strategy development, or metrics-driven decision making experience
- 5+ years of Go-To-Market, Business Development, Sales, or Consulting experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience explaining complex technical concepts to various business and technical audiences
- Experience presenting to both technical and non-technical executive audiences
- Experience leading complex, multi-year initiatives that may be cross-functional and/or span business and technology
- Bachelor's degree
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Demonstrated public sector proposal management and technical writing experience
- Familiarity with US Government acquisition guidelines
- Supported US federal pursuits
- Experienced with federal RFx compliance requirements
- Ability to think strategically about mission, product, and technical challenges
- Ability to build and convey compelling value propositions in a written context

Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively to identify and write content for RFx responses
- Craft compelling proposal narratives that synthesize both existing content and new inputs from SMEs, in alignment with strategic proposal objectives
- Own proposal content development for distinct RFx sections, from ideation to final review
- Independently gather, organize, and synthesize information from diverse AWS stakeholders, including those from sales, engineering, solutions architecture, and other organizations
- Contribute to proposal solutioning and strategy development sessions, asking clarifying questions to proactively guide content development
- Curate, grow, and update our team library of approved content, driving and organizing proposal content to maximize reuse effectiveness and utility
- Review final proposal documents for editing and content completeness
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to the above responsibilities
- Create documents that meet compliance requirements, align with sales objectives, provide clear technical and non-technical information, and encourage government customers to adopt AWS Cloud.
