About The Position

Cohen Commercial Realty, Inc. / Cohen Commercial Management, LLC is seeking an experienced accounting and finance professional to lead accounting for its commercial real estate portfolio. The role involves independently managing full-cycle commercial property accounting operations, producing accurate financial reports, supporting timely closes across multiple entities, and maintaining accounting controls and compliance. The position uses Yardi Voyager and Excel to support efficient, precise property accounting.

Requirements

At least 5 years of commercial property accounting experience.
Advanced proficiency in Yardi Voyager.
Expert Excel skills.
Experience working in smaller-company settings while overseeing staff.
Ability to work independently and manage a team effectively.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in third-party property management accounting.

Responsibilities

Independently manage high-volume accounts payable and accounts receivable, general ledgers, bank reconciliations, balance sheets, and financial statements.
Prepare detailed monthly reports with strong attention to accuracy.
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes for multi-entity accounting operations, including stepping in as needed.
Conduct regular internal audits to maintain accuracy and compliance.
Implement and maintain internal controls and provide accounting analyses.
Use Yardi Voyager to improve the efficiency and accuracy of property accounting processes.
Oversee staff while working autonomously in a smaller-company setting.
