About The Position

Langan is seeking a Senior Project Transportation Planner to join its growing transportation and infrastructure practice in Northern California. This individual will contribute to the execution of multimodal transportation planning and mobility initiatives for a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients. The position offers the opportunity to work on transportation impact studies, corridor planning, CEQA/NEPA analyses, and infrastructure master planning efforts, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, project management experience, and a deep understanding of California transportation policy, entitlement processes, and regional agency coordination.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
12+ years of relevant experience in transportation planning and/or traffic engineering.
Professional licensure (PE, TE, or similar) required.
In-depth knowledge of transportation planning principles, policies, and analytical methodologies.
Demonstrated project management and client management experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience with transportation analysis tools and GIS platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

Drive project execution across transportation planning and traffic analysis initiatives from proposal through delivery, ensuring alignment with overall project and team objectives.
Serve as a key point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
Oversee and contribute to technical studies and documentation, including: Transportation impact analyses and Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) studies, CEQA/NEPA transportation documentation and environmental review support, Corridor, mobility, and multimodal planning studies, Parking, access, and site circulation analyses, Complete Streets, active transportation, and transit-oriented development initiatives.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineering, environmental, and land development professionals, to support integrated project delivery.
Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans, ensuring quality through established QA/QC processes.
Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance and quality control.
Present findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client engagement.
