About The Position

This role focuses on supporting the delivery of environmental due diligence and land development projects. The Senior Project Technologist works closely with Project Managers and senior technical professionals to help clients make informed decisions related to property acquisition, redevelopment, and contaminated sites management. The position involves contributing to technically detailed regulatory work while continuing to strengthen expertise within Ontario’s environmental framework.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline, and/or a Diploma in Environmental Science
  • 3–5+ years of relevant environmental consulting experience, preferably within Ontario land development and regulatory frameworks
  • Strong working knowledge of Ontario Regulation 153/04 and Phase I & II ESA requirements
  • Experience supporting or delivering Excess Soil projects under Ontario Regulation 406/19 is highly preferred, including reporting and field investigation scopes of work
  • Strong technical writing, editing, organizational, and problem‑solving skills, with experience preparing regulatory‑driven documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Willingness to travel for field work, work outside standard business hours as required, and hold a valid driver’s license with insurance and access to a personal vehicle (expenses reimbursed)

Nice To Haves

  • Professional designation (or working toward), such as C.E.T., EIT, P.Eng., P.Geo., or GIT, considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Perform Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, including soil, groundwater, and soil vapour investigations, in support of municipal redevelopment approvals and Record of Site Condition (RSC) filings
  • Perform Planning Use studies in accordance with Ontario’s Excess Soil Regulation
  • Coordinate and oversee remediation, underground storage tank (UST) removal and excess soil activities, ensuring fieldwork is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Support and contribute to the training, mentorship, and technical development of junior and intermediate project technologists
  • Prepare, review, and edit technical reports and deliverables, including development of conceptual site models and supporting documentation for regulatory submissions
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, laboratories, and other stakeholders to coordinate project activities and address technical or logistical issues
  • Build and maintain positive client relationships through professional communication, responsiveness, and delivery of high‑quality technical work
