About The Position

The Weitz Company is seeking an experienced Senior Project Superintendent who is open to travel and potentially relocating to projects in the Phoenix, AZ area. This role is responsible for the profitable field operations on complex, large projects, after demonstrating the ability to successfully complete smaller projects. The Senior Project Superintendent will establish the safety culture on the jobsite and collaborate closely with the Project Manager to manage the schedule, budget, and staff to achieve profitable outcomes. This individual should also focus on creating and maintaining effective relationships with clients, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors. This position typically reports to the most senior Project Manager on the job. Requirements

8+ years of Project Superintendent experience required
Commercial construction experience working for a general contractor (GC) is required
Experience leading, developing, and mentoring a team
Ability to read/interpret construction documents
Knowledge of construction methods and materials
Excellent project organizational skills
Impressive leadership skills with the desire to teach, mentor, and develop a team
Business acumen and relationship building skills
Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels of the organization
Proficient in basic computer software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to learn specific job-related software upon hire

Nice To Haves

Experience in senior living, student housing, hospitality, condominium, and/or other lived in product type construction is desired

Responsibilities

Act as the primary leader of subcontractors and field forces on a job site
Maintain project safety in accordance with the Company’s Safety Policy
Develop and update the project schedule, resource allocation, and work processes
Prepare two-week look ahead schedules
Oversee daily construction activities ensuring work meets quality standards, project timelines, and budgets
Coordinate with subcontractors, manage their performance, and ensure they adhere to contract requirements and safety protocols
Conduct regular site inspections, identify and address quality issues, and ensure work meets project specifications
Identify and resolve issues promptly and effectively to maintain project momentum and project schedule
Update project schedules utilizing computerized scheduling software
Assist with the buyout and selection of major subcontractors
Oversee all aspects of project execution, including constructions schedules, budgets, and quality control
Supervise and coordinate all field personnel, subcontractors, and construction activities
Implement and enforce strict safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment for all employees and subcontractors
Maintain strong communication with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders
Coordinate the work of the subcontractors’ field forces
Communicate effectively both externally with owners, designers, and engineers as well as internally with the project team
Maintain accurate cost reports
Ensure all required paperwork is completed, accurate, and timely
Adhere to all company policies, standards, and procedures
Provide opportunities to help the team develop, learn, and grow
Foster positive relationships with both internal and external parties
