About The Position

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Project Manager to expand our Structures practice in Pearland, Texas (TX). This position will support the growth of the firm in our heavy civil, facilities infrastructure, and/or building structures practices. The role involves developing and maintaining good relationships with coworkers, industry peers, and clients, performing and reviewing structural design calculations, preparing project document submittal packages, and maintaining Quality Control for the entire project. The Senior Project Manager will also conduct site investigations and structural evaluations, document field observations, and prepare technical reports. Support and participation in meetings and presentations with clients, owners, contractors, and design team members are expected, along with contributing to identifying project opportunities through networking. Leadership responsibilities include operating with integrity, providing vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, building and maintaining positive client relationships, and fostering open communication. The role involves growing and leading a structural practice, managing projects profitably, transitioning work to qualified staff, growing and mentoring staff, and acting as a positive leader and mentor. The successful candidate will have significant autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business, with rewards including an impressive bonus program and potential for advancement to ownership.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of diversified structural engineering experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • History of providing technical design and planning on a variety of structures
  • Knowledge in AutoCAD, Revit, and Sketchup with some ability to produce drawings and details, when needed
  • Knowledge and experience in structural analysis and design software, such as STAAD, RAM, E-Tabs, MathCAD, TEDDS, ADAPT PT, and other structural related design software
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills
  • Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems
  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably
  • Experience writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected work
