About The Position

The Senior Project Manager manages projects in accordance with established project governance and plans, directs, and coordinates activities for designated IT or Business areas. The role ensures project goals and approved scope are accomplished within prescribed timelines and funding parameters. It develops and manages project plans of varying complexity, including work breakdowns, resource commitments, budgets, risks, and communications for each project phase. The Senior Project Manager partners with the project Business Owner and Technical Lead on delivery strategy, with a focus on transparency and project controls. The position leads project personnel and project controls from planning through delivery and closeout. It coordinates analysis of business requirements and technical design, directs application and solution testing, monitors results against technical specifications, reports status and issues, obtains acceptance and signoff, and captures lessons and best practices for future projects.

Requirements

For the Senior Level, a minimum of 5 years of job-related work experience in excess of degree requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent education and experience may also qualify.
Authorization to work in the United States.
Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

For the Lead Level, a minimum of 8 years of job-related work experience in excess of degree requirements.
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
PMP Project Management Professional certification.
PgMP Program Management Professional certification.

Responsibilities

Develop project plans covering goals, strategy, staffing, schedules, risks, contingency plans, and resource allocation for each project phase.
Define the project's technical scope and objectives for project personnel.
Manage team activities to analyze business requirements, determine technical design, and produce required design documentation.
Establish project reporting and documentation standards and procedures.
Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.
Coordinate recruitment and assignment of project personnel.
Assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to project personnel.
Direct and coordinate project personnel to keep work on schedule and within budget.
Monitor team work, focus the team on high-priority items, and promote teamwork.
Coordinate and respond to requests for changes from original specifications.
Question designs and procedures to improve application quality and the process for building the application.
Take accountability for team results.
Implement metrics to track team performance against schedule and budget expectations.
Develop and maintain technical and project documentation.
Prepare status reports and keep management, clients, and others informed of project status and related issues.
Monitor project results against technical specifications.
Identify and raise issues or deviations from functional requirements.
Adhere to migration execution planning methodology.
Ensure test plans are created and that unit and string tests are performed on new or modified code as needed, following the specified plan and verifying expected results.
Direct application and solution testing.
Capture best practices for future projects and complete project reviews.
Obtain project completion signoff through customer satisfaction and acceptance testing.
