Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related technical discipline.
8+ years of Project Management experience within the electric utility industry.
Experience managing Transmission, Distribution, and/or Substation engineering or construction projects.
Strong knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, contract administration, and project controls.
Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Willingness to travel periodically to client sites throughout the region.

Nice To Haves

PMP Certification (or actively pursuing certification).
Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Deltek Vantagepoint, EcoSys, SAP, or similar project management platforms.
Experience supporting utility capital improvement programs, grid modernization initiatives, or infrastructure expansion projects.
Strong understanding of utility engineering, construction practices, and project financial management.

Responsibilities

Lead Utility Projects: Manage complex electric utility projects throughout the entire project lifecycle, including planning, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
Lead multiple Transmission, Distribution, and Substation projects while maintaining scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, engineering teams, and executive leadership.
Project Planning & Execution: Develop and maintain detailed project execution plans, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to internal leadership and utility clients.
Identify project risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
Manage Requests for Information (RFIs), change orders, action items, and project documentation.
Financial & Operational Management: Monitor project budgets, forecasting, earned value, and financial performance.
Track project progress against milestones and key performance indicators.
Coordinate project invoicing and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Support capital planning, resource forecasting, and contractor management.
Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams including engineering, construction management, project controls, scheduling, and QA/QC.
Mentor Associate Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and Project Analysts.
Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous process improvement across project teams.
Client Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with utility clients and key stakeholders.
Ensure projects meet client expectations while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities for additional work and strengthening client partnerships.
