About The Position

An established general contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead project management for a $700M+ correctional facility on the Gulf Coast of Alabama/Florida. The highly complex project includes more than 25 buildings and over 700,000 square feet, including precast cell buildings, a central plant, and extensive support facilities. Construction is anticipated to last approximately three years, with potential to transition to additional major projects after successful completion. As a key member of the project leadership team, the Senior Project Manager will provide strategic and operational oversight across the project lifecycle. The role oversees project operations, financial performance, P&L, cost control, scheduling, safety, quality, and risk management, while leading a large multidisciplinary team and coordinating with owners, design professionals, subcontractors, vendors, and company leadership. The position is full-time onsite along the Gulf Coast, with travel as required.

Requirements

10+ years of commercial or institutional construction experience.
Significant experience managing large-scale construction projects, preferably valued at $500M or more.
Demonstrated experience leading large multidisciplinary project teams.
Strong understanding of project financial management, P&L, cost control, scheduling, contracts, risk management, and project delivery.
Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software.
Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain strong owner and subcontractor relationships.
Willingness to work full-time onsite along the Gulf Coast of Alabama/Florida.
Ability and willingness to travel as required for project and company needs.

Nice To Haves

Extensive experience with prison, detention center, correctional, or secure government facilities; this experience is strongly preferred and may be required.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field; preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

Provide senior-level leadership and direction for a $700M+ correctional construction project.
Oversee project operations, financial performance, P&L, cost control, scheduling, safety, quality, and risk management.
Lead and mentor a large project team, including Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, safety and quality-control professionals, and other staff.
Establish and maintain project execution strategies, schedules, budgets, and performance objectives.
Monitor project financials and identify opportunities, risks, and potential cost impacts.
Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal leadership.
Ensure project milestones, quality standards, contractual requirements, and safety objectives are achieved.
Oversee project documentation, procurement, subcontract administration, change management, and closeout activities.
Use Primavera P6 or comparable scheduling software to develop, monitor, and manage complex project schedules.
Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to protect schedule, budget, quality, and profitability.
Foster accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement across the project team.
