About The Position

AtkinsRéalis' Bridges Department – Western Region, is seeking a Senior Project Manager (Bridges) for their team in Calgary, Alberta. This role reports to the Manager, Major Bridges & West Region. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for project management and structural leadership on bridge and structural engineering projects, encompassing development, analysis, design, evaluation, inspection, and execution.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (preferably with a Structural major).
  • Registered as Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with APEGA.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation with 10 years in project management.
  • 15+ years of experience in engineering practice in analysis and design of various types of bridge and transportation structures.
  • Experience with reviewing condition survey reports and making recommendations for rehabilitation strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a multi-disciplinary team delivering projects with variety of complexity, type of bridge, size and scope.
  • Experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC) and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) Code.
  • Proficient in SAP 2000, CSI Bridge, MIDAS, Staad Pro, ETABS, Bentley ProjectWise and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management for multidisciplinary bridge projects.
  • Lead a structural design team for a variety of projects.
  • Applying advanced engineering techniques and tools for solution of complex engineering challenges.
  • Directing, coaching, supporting and guiding employees (engineers and technicians) assigned to projects.
  • Advise management and collaborate with other disciplines.
  • Preparation of proposals and participation in business development including publications and conferences.
  • Preparing structural designs and evaluations, and contract packages for ATEC, City of Calgary and other key Clients including current policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and manuals.
  • Overseeing construction services for active projects during construction phases.
