About The Position

Potelco, Inc., a subsidiary of Quanta Services, Inc., was founded in 1965 and specializes in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services. These services include designing, estimating, material acquisition, project management, construction, emergency power restoration, and system maintenance, with expertise in power, transmission, distribution, and substation projects. Potelco is a leading full-service provider of power infrastructure, construction, and support services in utility and energy contracting throughout the Pacific Northwest and neighboring states. The company works with large energy companies to modernize electric systems, move towards de-carbonization, and maintain power lines. Potelco upholds high safety, productivity, and reliability standards. This role is for a Senior Project Manager in Hubbard, OR, focusing on medium and high voltage projects. The Senior Project Manager will manage complex projects involving transmission, distribution, and substation construction/maintenance. They will oversee planning, directing, and coordinating activities related to construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. Responsibilities include conceptual development, organization, scheduling, budgeting, staffing, subcontractor management, safety, quality, and execution of construction projects.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of project management experience in the construction industry
  • Ability to write business correspondence and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and identify constructability issues.
  • Must be willing to travel, short-term.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other managers, clients, customers, and local permitting agencies.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite, with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screening(s).
  • Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree or relevant experience is preferred.
  • High-voltage construction experience.
  • PMP Certification

Responsibilities

  • Ensure customer success
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with field leaders, owners, subcontractors, vendors, and supporting personnel to ensure projects are completed safely and on time.
  • Develop, implement, and track resource loaded project schedules.
  • Identify project risks, communicate risks and manage them effectively.
  • Establish and track project budgets throughout the project lifecycle, including monthly reporting and forecasting.
  • Develop and lead project kickoff meetings and mobilization plans.
  • Manage project closeout and demobilization.
  • Track and report project production goals accurately.
  • Develop, track, and report a Project Specific Safety Plan (PSSP); including working with safety professionals to ensure the project is executed safely.
  • Develop, track, and report a Project Quality Plan (PQP); including working with quality professionals to ensure all quality metrics are being met and issues are resolved promptly.
  • Work with field leadership to efficiently manage personnel and equipment requirements.
  • Negotiate subcontractor and vendor contract scope, terms and conditions.
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors.
  • Understand and follow project contractual terms & conditions.
  • Mentor and train members of Project Management.
