The Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) aims to enhance the functionality of New York City government. DCAS manages iconic city buildings, procures over $1 billion in goods and services annually for more than 80 agencies, and plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the City of New York. The Real Estate Services (RES) division within DCAS handles the city's real estate needs, including space planning and management of 37 million square feet, property acquisitions and dispositions, architectural design, project management, zoning analysis, property valuation, and financial analysis of real estate transactions. The Design & Project Management (D&PM) Unit specifically provides project management and design expertise to DCAS and client agencies to meet their operational and space requirements. This includes managing renovations of leased and city-owned spaces, programming, preliminary design, scope of work development, cost estimating, furniture specifications, procurement coordination, space measurement verification, and construction administration. D&PM acts as a facilitator to translate agency operational needs into suitable space solutions.
