Senior Project Manager - Mining Consulting

About The Position

This leadership role focuses on shaping responsible mining development across Canada. The Project Manager – Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) will lead complex, multidisciplinary environmental projects, guiding teams and clients through the environmental assessment and permitting process. The role is supported by WSP’s technical expertise and national network to deliver projects that balance development, environmental stewardship, and community outcomes.

Requirements

Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Science, Environmental Studies, Business, or a related discipline.
Minimum 8 years of professional project management experience, including 3+ years in consulting.
Demonstrated experience with Environmental and Social Impact Assessment processes in Canada (federal and/or provincial).
Proven ability to manage multi‑disciplinary consulting teams and subcontractors.
Strong expertise in project financial tracking, forecasting, and change management.
Working knowledge of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMI).
Experience using MS Project and/or Primavera P6, with advanced project planning and tracking skills.
Action‑oriented, highly organized, adaptable, and effective under pressure.

Responsibilities

Lead Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) projects for mining developments from initiation through delivery.
Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resourcing, and risk while maintaining high client satisfaction.
Coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams, including environmental, social, and permitting specialists.
Act as the primary client interface, building trusted relationships through clear, ethical, and proactive communication.
Apply project management tools, methods, and best practices aligned with PMI standards.
Track project financial performance, manage change orders, and control scope evolution.
Identify, document, and mitigate project risks using structured risk registers.
