Senior Project Manager
About The Position
The Senior Project Manager – Office is responsible for the planning, safety, execution, and financial management of low voltage construction projects with a cumulative yearly dollar value over $7MM. This role involves providing overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of simultaneous complex cabling projects within various verticals. The position requires working with the Operations Team and Safety Manager to ensure appropriate PPE and safety measures are in place. The Senior Project Manager must be able to profitably manage large-scale construction projects while consistently maintaining revenue of $7MM with strong margins. This role includes the management and development of OPM I and OPM II, and directing and supervising project administration, project superintendents, and engineers to establish operational priorities and maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, unions, etc. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for enforcing project reporting requirements, serving as an escalation point for critical project issues, and assuming overall accountability for jobsite safety and quality. The role also involves providing technical expertise to the field team and project managers, forecasting and tracking labor costs to maximize productivity and costs, and invoicing projects quickly to maximize cash flow. Utilizing technology and project dashboards to track project milestones, timelines, and profitability is essential. The Senior Project Manager will approve and sign all material invoices and technician timesheets, generate and submit change order pricing for items outside the approved original scope of work up to $500k, and perform on-site inspections of local work locations at the start, midpoint, and completion of projects. Required documentation includes ‘as-built’ drawings, cable certification reports, and applicable warranties. The role also involves developing new subcontractor relationships and strengthening existing ones. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equitable years’ experience and industry certifications
- 10 years’ in construction project management including 5 years’ managing large scale construction projects
- Mastry of project methodology and process
- Create and manage annual goals of direct reports, supporting bi-annual reviews and opportunities to coach for success
- Proven success mentoring and managing junior talent to support their growth and project
- Proven success managing complex projects with strong project margins
- Strong MS office skills
- Proficiency with current technologies and low voltage products
- Industry and Manufacturer’s Certification
- Experience creating change orders up to $500k
