About The Position

The Senior Project Manager - Water will be responsible for preparing plans and specifications for linear drainage projects, site-civil development, and pumping stations. This role involves providing overall project management of stormwater control and/or wastewater collection projects, as well as stormwater management compliance and floodplain permitting. The position requires leading project delivery teams in developing construction contract bid documents within the municipal stormwater practice area, including design drawings, specifications, cost estimates, permit plans, and reports. A key aspect of the role is performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to identify flooding problems and evaluate solutions, and preparing reports to present these findings. The Senior Project Manager will also perform stormwater modeling analyses for various considerations using specialized software and guide other engineers in using design programs like AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and MicroStation. This role demands technical management of multiple stormwater and/or wastewater assignments simultaneously, providing technical expertise to junior staff, and directing their work. Additionally, the position involves developing combined sewer projects, executing Long Term Control Plan projects, and coordinating project execution with other disciplines and personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field.
  • Eight (8) years of experience as a Project Manager or a related occupation focusing on delivering municipal stormwater or wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Eight (8) years in preparing or reviewing design plans and specifications for stormwater and wastewater projects for public clients, including drainage and sanitary sewer improvements; stormwater pumping stations; projects in highly urbanized areas; or site stormwater compliance design.
  • Eight (8) years in utilizing roadway and site drainage design software including StormCAD, Storm and Sanitary, HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, or Hydrographs extension.
  • Eight (8) years in watershed delineation, hydrologic analysis, riverine and conveyance system hydraulics, bridge and culvert sizing, scour analysis, and inundation mapping.
  • Eight (8) years in preparing calculations and designing Best Management Practices (BMPs) for stormwater management.
  • Eight (8) years in applying knowledge of floodplain regulations for development in flood hazard areas.
  • Five (5) years in preparing public works construction contract bid documents in the stormwater practice area, including project drawings, specifications, schedules, or cost estimates.
  • Five (5) years in utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS applications.
  • Five (5) years in leading project delivery teams, mentoring early career staff, and preparing effective technical reports.
  • Five (5) years in obtaining project permits from Federal, State, and local agencies as required.
  • Five (5) years in preparing scopes of work, cost estimates, and technical proposals.
  • Hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare plans and specifications for linear drainage projects, site-civil development, and pumping stations.
  • Provide overall project management of stormwater control and/or wastewater collection projects and stormwater management compliance and floodplain permitting.
  • Lead project delivery teams in developing construction contract bid documents in the municipal stormwater practice area, including design drawings, specifications, cost estimates, permit plans, and reports.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for different projects to identify existing flooding problems and evaluate alternative solutions.
  • Prepare reports presenting results and conclusions of hydrologic and hydraulic studies.
  • Perform stormwater modeling analyses for resiliency impacts, detention, retention, conveyance, green infrastructure, and water quality considerations using software such as lnfoworks ICM, StormCAD, Storm and Sanitary, PCSWMM, HydroCAD, HEC-RAS (1D and 2D), and HEC-HMS.
  • Utilize and/or guide other engineers in using design programs such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and MicroStation in the preparation of contract drawings and maps.
  • Provide technical management of various stormwater and/or wastewater assignments simultaneously.
  • Provide technical expertise to other engineers and technical staff related to stormwater collection, storage, conveyance, and pumping systems.
  • Direct and review work products prepared by early career engineers.
  • Develop combined sewer projects and execute Long Term Control Plan project.
  • Coordinate execution of projects with other engineering disciplines and office personnel.
