About The Position

Wood is recruiting for a Project Manager to join its Operations Americas business focusing on Oil & Gas BU to support EPC offshore Top-sides projects. This opportunity is onsite in Metairie, LA. The role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project—from planning and execution through monitoring and control—ensuring that project objectives are achieved safely, on time, and within budget. The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams, oversee engineering deliverables, and serve as a key point of contact with the client. A critical success factor in this role is the ability to effectively manage communication, build strong relationships, and deliver consistent value to the client. In addition, the Project Manager will oversee and coordinate the activities of the EP contractor, sub-frame contractor, construction contractor, and client, ensuring alignment and seamless execution across all parties. The initial project is expected to be 6 months to 1 year with the potential additional projects to follow.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering or technical field
  • 10+ years of experience in project management within offshore topsides or heavy industry sectors
  • Proven experience delivering EPC/EPCM projects
  • Experience overseeing complex engineering deliverables and project execution scopes
  • Strong understanding of engineering standards, project lifecycle delivery, and governance processes
  • Demonstrated experience in client-facing roles and stakeholder engagement
  • Commercial awareness including contract management and change control
  • Strong planning, organizational, and execution skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of projects, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives
  • Develop and implement the Project Execution Plan (PEP)
  • Provide leadership to multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning
  • Oversee and coordinate activities across the EP contractor, sub-frame contractor, construction contractor, and client to ensure integrated delivery
  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, regulatory, and company standards
  • Act as the primary interface with the client, maintaining strong communication and alignment
  • Build and sustain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and transparency
  • Oversee engineering deliverables, including: Construction Work Packs, Engineering Studies, Regulatory & Environmental Reviews, Asset Management Plans
  • Review and approve key documentation such as: Basis of Design, Scopes of Work, Multidiscipline deliverables
  • Ensure all deliverables meet project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain robust control over scope, schedule, cost, and risk
  • Monitor progress and performance, implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Lead risk management and issue resolution
  • Manage and enforce change control processes, ensuring commercial impacts are understood
  • Provide accurate reporting on project status, financials, and performance metrics
  • Oversee procurement activities and vendor performance
  • Manage contractor and package interfaces across project phases
  • Support construction and commissioning to ensure successful project delivery and handover
