Senior Project Manager, Survey Research

About The Position

The Senior Project Manager, Survey Research leads internal and external survey research projects end to end — from inception and proposal through questionnaire development, programming, fielding, delivery, and reporting. Reporting to our SVP Data Science also based in the US, The Senior Project Manager, Survey Research manages several large projects at once across multiple markets, often for sophisticated academic and institutional clients, and you'll be the person responsible for getting each one delivered to a high standard and on time. This is a client-delivery role at its core. Most of your time goes to executing commissioned projects rigorously and guiding clients toward sound methodological choices — pushing back where a design is weak, and steering partners to decisions they can defend. The people who thrive here find genuine satisfaction in doing client work excellently, in untangling ambiguous asks into clean research designs, and in raising the bar on how we deliver. Alongside delivery, the Senior Project Manager, Survey Research strengthens the methods and tooling the Data Science function relies on. This work is delivery-adjacent by design: better approaches, reusable components, and sharper quality checks that make our client work faster and more rigorous over time. Management and mentoring of junior team members is welcome but not required.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (PhD or master's-plus-experience) in statistics, quantitative social science, computer science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in survey methodology and quantitative research design is essential.
  • Five or more years of related experience (graduate research experience counts).
  • Strong client and stakeholder management — comfortable advising sophisticated clients and steering them to better decisions under real timelines.
  • Experienced programming in R, QSL, and SQL.
  • Strong attention to detail and a track record of delivering rigorous work to deadline in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to pick up new software and techniques quickly.

  • Respond quickly and credibly to internal and external client requests.
  • Write and deliver clear reports and presentations.
  • Bring methodological rigor to every engagement — choosing the right design, weighting, and analysis approach for the problem at hand.
