About The Position

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Project Manager, Practice Builder to join our Land Planning team in Gainesville, Florida! This role involves leading a practice specializing in urban and regional master planning, land use and zoning, and land planning focused in the local region. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, a vision for growth, and the ability to build their own projects, clients, and team.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive experience growing and leading a diverse Land Planning practice with clients
  • Bachelors Degree or higher in city or regional planning or related
  • Provide high quality deliverables with exceptional client service
  • A desire to lead and grow a planning practice
  • Business development and marketing experience including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected work.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Registered American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP)
  • Local and regional experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead a practice specializing in urban and regional master planning, land use and zoning, and land planning focused in the local region.
  • Develop a comprehensive project plan that outlines objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Lead a team while building and managing relationships with key clients.
  • Provide practice vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, building and maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, help recruit, and be a positive role model.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration with clients, government agencies, landowners, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure that the project adheres to zoning regulations, environmental laws, and other legal requirements.
  • Identify potential risks and implementing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Ensure that the project is executed with a high level of quality and meets the client's expectations.
