About The Position

The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is a key leadership role responsible for managing large, complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction projects and/or multiple concurrent projects. This position provides strategic direction, ensures profitability, and drives client satisfaction through proactive leadership, risk mitigation, and operational excellence. The Senior Project Manager acts as the primary lead on projects with significant complexity or high revenue value while mentoring and developing project teams.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of progressive experience in MEP construction project management.
  • Proven success delivering large-scale or complex projects ($10M+ in MEP scope).
  • Demonstrated P&L responsibility and strong financial acumen.
  • Expert-level understanding of MEP systems, building codes, construction sequencing, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, and client relationship skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, Spectrum and/or other construction management software.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without future employment sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP, PE, DBIA, or CCM certification.
  • Experience in design-build, IPD, or alternative delivery projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full lifecycle project management from preconstruction through closeout for major MEP projects ($10M, and multiple concurrent projects).
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to meet schedule, cost, safety, and performance objectives.
  • Own financial performance of assigned projects, including budget management, cost forecasting, margin tracking, billing, and cash flow.
  • Drive project profitability through proactive change order management, cost controls, and value engineering.
  • Analyze financial reports and implement corrective actions to ensure adherence to revenue and profitability targets.
  • Act as the primary forward-facing contact for key clients; build strong relationships that lead to repeat business and portfolio growth.
  • Oversee contract administration, major negotiations, dispute resolution, and claims management.
  • Direct and mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Area Managers, and field leaders.
  • Provide coaching focused on financial management, client engagement, and project execution excellence.
  • Lead talent development, succession planning, and performance evaluations for the project management team.
  • Champion company safety culture, quality standards, and operational procedures.
  • Implement continuous improvement practices to optimize project workflows, field productivity, and resource utilization.
  • Coordinate with estimating, procurement, and project controls to ensure alignment with project goals.
