About The Position

This role involves leading the North America Controls Project Management Team, focusing on executing projects and providing leadership support within the Nuclear Controls sector. The position requires managing complex GE Vernova controls upgrade projects, acting as the primary customer contact, and overseeing all financial and scheduling aspects of the projects. It also includes supporting the development of the nuclear operational model, mentoring other project managers, and managing project execution and financial risks.

Requirements

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or GE Vernova internal equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in management/STEM (Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) from an accredited college or University.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in project management.
  • At least 3 years managing projects for nuclear customers.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in nuclear turbine controls, including engineering or supply chain.
  • Exceptional organization skills, including demonstrated project execution administration/controls.
  • SAP Enterprise Software experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time for kick-off meetings, close out meetings, and witness tests.

Responsibilities

  • Safely achieving on-quality, on-time, and on-budget performance for complex nuclear controls upgrade projects.
  • Serving as the primary customer contact from order receipt through commissioning, resolving issues, managing communication, ensuring satisfaction, negotiating changes, arranging tests, managing contracts, and closing projects.
  • Managing and reporting all financial aspects of the project, including budgets, costs, margin, invoicing, and receivables, while promoting change orders and providing estimate-at-completion forecasts.
  • Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules and critical control points through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Providing leadership and direction to project team functions to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Supporting the development of the North America projects nuclear operational model, including team structure.
  • Mentoring project managers on the team, including direct reports.
  • Owning nuclear execution, including forecasting, stakeholder management, and status/readiness visibility.
  • Sharing Nuclear Best Practices/Lessons Learned/Operational Experience (OPEX) for continuous improvement.
  • Quantitatively and qualitatively managing project execution and financial risks.
  • Influencing decision-making and problem-solving across cross-functional teams to develop win-win solutions.
