About The Position

Halff is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our Land Development practice in Atlanta, GA. This role is seeking someone who can lead and oversee land development projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of experience in delivering land development design projects, an established network of municipal clients, and knowledge of established practices in regional clients’ rotation lists, on-calls and pre-qualification pools in the Atlanta area. This role requires a seasoned civil engineering professional with expertise in site planning, infrastructure design, permitting, and project management. This position will entail the leadership of Land Development civil engineering staff and oversight of large/complex projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in Georgia
  • At least 15 years of progressive experience to support Land Development projects including residential planning, design, and construction
  • Demonstrable project wins as a key individual on the project team organizational chart
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Servant leader mentality with strong ability to train and mentor staff
  • Excel in project management, administration, and supervision
  • Ability to work in a team environment with multiple offices and various disciplines

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of land development projects, including feasibility studies, design, permitting, and construction.
  • Provide technical and strategic leadership to project teams, ensuring efficiency and quality execution.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, municipalities, consultants, and contractors.
  • Ensure projects comply with local, state, and federal land development regulations.
  • Review and approve engineering plans, drainage reports, grading plans, and utility designs.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, zoning laws, and permitting processes.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement solutions to mitigate project challenges.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with developers, municipalities, and industry partners.
  • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to proposals, RFPs, and presentations.
  • Represent the company in meetings with clients, agencies, and community stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor engineering staff, providing guidance on technical and professional growth.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
