The Senior Project Manager is responsible for independently managing complex, medium- to large-scale projects and programs throughout the full implementation lifecycle, from initiation and planning through go-live, stabilization, and handoff. Projects include implementation of new products and services associated with Release of Information. This role coordinates multiple concurrent initiatives and partners with other project managers, consultants, technical resources, business and IT teams, clients, and external vendors to define objectives, manage schedules and dependencies, monitor progress, and address risks and issues. The Senior Project Manager maintains effective governance, documentation, and communication practices to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery, timely implementation, and strong customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, or a related field; equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in project or program management and client-facing service delivery, with demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent projects or programs.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams, as well as experience using project or portfolio management platforms.
  • Proficiency in process development, continuous improvement, and problem-solving.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Health Information Management within acute care, ambulatory, and clinic settings.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and drive projects through completion.
  • Experience developing and maintaining project roadmaps, schedules, and portfolio-level reporting.
  • Strong presentation, meeting facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects, coordinate cross-functional resources, and support effective decision-making and planning.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage assigned projects within the Project Management Tracking Tool, monitor progress, maintain accurate project records, and escalate schedule, scope, or delivery risks as appropriate.
  • Maintain accountability for assigned projects and programs within the Client Impact portfolio, ensuring alignment with established objectives, timelines, and success measures.
  • Lead complex, large-scale, and high-profile implementation projects from initiation through stabilization and handoff.
  • Coordinate programs consisting of multiple related projects, partnering with the project managers responsible for individual workstreams to ensure alignment, dependency management, and successful overall delivery.
  • Partner with Datavant business teams, IT groups, clients, and external vendors to support the successful implementation of multiple concurrent projects and programs.
  • Apply established project management methodologies and ensure assigned projects and programs produce accurate, consistent, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Operations and customers to implement services and products that support customer satisfaction, retention, self-sufficiency, and profitability.
  • Proactively identify, document, manage, and resolve project or program risks and issues, escalating matters to the appropriate leaders when necessary.
  • Facilitate recurring project and program meetings and provide clear, timely updates regarding status, milestones, risks, decisions, changes, and timelines.
  • Coordinate post-go-live support, monitor stabilization activities, assist with issue resolution, and escalate concerns as necessary to support a successful transition to ongoing operations.
