About The Position

STV currently has an opening for a Senior Project Manager-Healthcare in the Construction Management group in Suffolk County, NY. The Senior Project Manager (SPM) will assist Executive Managers in leading project teams, setting goals, and developing project implementation strategies, policies, and procedures. The SPM will manage staff, recruit new personnel, and oversee program financials and schedules. This role involves leading cross-functional healthcare infrastructure projects/programs and initiatives that are complex and carry significant risk. The SPM will negotiate scope changes, staffing, and fees, develop program organizational structures, define resource requirements, and manage client relationships. Responsibilities include monitoring design and construction activities to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards, defining and assigning project responsibilities, and developing policies to foster a high-performing team. The SPM will evaluate program financials, cash flow, cost estimates, purchase orders, change orders, and invoices, and implement actions for program compliance and successful delivery. This role also involves working with the team to forecast, identify, and address potential liabilities and risks, develop and maintain project schedules, and ensure project objectives are met. The SPM will develop and implement policies to maintain client, consultant, contractor, and vendor relationships, manage conflict resolution, and communicate complex ideas persuasively to executive leadership. Additionally, the SPM will develop standards, protocols, policies, and procedures to facilitate project success and build a collaborative work environment, providing guidance to less experienced team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
  • Commensurate years of industry experience.
  • Minimum of 15 years of infrastructure owner representative/project management experience, specifically in Hospital, Healthcare Systems.
  • Demonstrated history in managing a minimum of $100 million in healthcare or related construction types.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing high-rise construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing program/project teams on large complex healthcare projects.
  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and a track record in project management techniques, concepts, principles, and standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels internally and externally to establish credibility on project teams.
  • Knowledge and ability to creatively resolve issues as they arise.
  • Knowledge and ability to supervise people including recruitment, training, performance management, and people development.
  • High proficiency with general Microsoft applications, including MS Project and Share Point.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management software and applications.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Executive Managers in leading the project team.
  • Setting goals, developing project implementation strategies, policies and procedures to guide the project/program.
